Donor Impact
Highlights of Recent Grant Awards and Donations
Generous financial support from corporations and charitable foundations is funding SBCHC programs that are having lasting and tangible effects for our patients and members of the communities we serve. Here are a few of the recent ones we have received:
American Cancer Society “NFL Cancer Screening and Prevention Project 2022”
Through a $20,000 award from the American Cancer Society SBCHC was able to enact quality improvements, offer incentives, and partially support a staff member to assist patients to increase the number of patients completing their recommended Colorectal Cancer Screenings. IN one year, SBCHC was able to complete 966 Fit Kit tests and “Catch” 17 patients in need of further diagnostic assessments.
Vitamin Angels
We are proud to partner with Vitamin Angels in providing prenatal vitamins to expectant moms. We are honored that they profiled their partnership with us on their website. “A Vitamin Angels partner since 2014, Spring Branch CHC has grown to distribute over 1100 bottles of multiple micronutrient supplements (prenatal vitamins) annually to help support healthy pregnancies for moms and babies in Texas.”
The Charity Guild of Catholic Women
Through a new award, The Charity Guild of Catholic Women will fund the expansion of RAAPs surveys throughout our clinics. This important tool allows kids to answer sensitive questions on an iPad so they feel more comfortable disclosing risky or unhealthy behaviors. The RAAPs tools allow SBCHC providers the opportunity to reach out to individual children in need and to look at the pediatric population as a whole to define trends so we may design programs to address prevalent health concerns among the children we serve.
Starbucks Community Grants
SBCHC is honored that The Starbucks Foundation has selected our organization to receive a grant as part of their Neighborhood Grants program. One or more Starbucks partners (employees) nominated SBCHC based on the important work they have seen us doing in our communities. During Starbucks ’Season of Cheer’ in December 2022, the coffee retailer received over 20,000 nominations from their partners and alumni across the U.S. and Canada, and based on their advocacy, SBCHC is one of 2,000 nonprofits selected to receive a Neighborhood Grant. We are proud to receive this recognition and support from local Starbucks partner(s) and The Starbucks Foundation.
