SBCHC CEO Honored for Diversity Efforts

Houston Business Journal Names Dr. Trujillo an Outstanding Head of Diversity

Spring Branch Community Health Center is proud to announce that our CEO, Marlen J. Trujillo, PhD, MBA, CHW, received an Outstanding Head of Diversity Award from the Houston Business Journal. This award recognizes Dr. Trujillo’s achievements in displaying leadership, commitment, and motivation in driving the diversity and inclusion agenda for SBCHC and in the community at large.

Under her guidance, SBCHC has pursued the goal of developing a staff truly representative of our diverse community, a staff which reflects the cultural, linguistic, and ethnic composition of the communities we serve which is essential to fostering trust between providers and patients to improve health outcomes.

Fueled by the different experiences each staff member brings to our organizations, this diverse workforce has also led to innovative programming, improved service delivery methods, and enriching community events, empowering SBCHC to effectively serve over 25,000 people per year.
